AI Status is an app for Mac, iPhone, and Apple Watch published by Roobooto K.K. It shows what the AI coding agents on your Mac are doing.
Processed locally on your Mac: the session files of supported agents (Codex, Claude Code, and Hermes) in folders you allow, such as ~/.claude, ~/.codex, and ~/.hermes; session names from the Claude app’s folder; and the list of your own running processes (names, command lines, working folders, and CPU and memory use), to tell whether an agent is still running. The app only reads these folders and never changes them. You choose which folders it may read, and you can remove access at any time.
iCloud sync: when iCloud sync is on (Settings › iCloud on the Mac), the Mac app stores a status summary in your private iCloud database so your iPhone and Apple Watch can show it. The summary contains your Mac’s name; each agent’s state (working, waiting, or idle), session counts, and any error reading its status; and, for each active session, its name (the agent’s session title, or the first line of your first message, shortened), identifier, agent, project folder path, current activity, time of last activity, model and reasoning setting, a short description of a background task the agent started, and CPU and memory use. The summary is stored in your own iCloud account under Apple’s terms, and Roobooto K.K. cannot access it. Turning sync off deletes it. The iPhone and Apple Watch apps keep the latest summary on the device so they can show it while offline.
Updates (Mac app downloaded from our website only): this version checks roobooto.com for a newer version about once a day and when you choose Check for Updates. These requests include the app’s version and basic system information, such as the macOS version, and our web server records your IP address in its access logs, as it does for every visit to our website. We use these logs only to operate and protect the website. You can turn off automatic checks in Settings › About. The App Store versions get their updates from the App Store and don’t contact our servers.
Never included: transcripts, the agents’ replies, the contents of your files, and credentials.
We do not: require an account, collect personal data through the app (apart from the update checks described above), include analytics or advertising SDKs, track you, or sell data.
Diagnostics: if you choose to share crash reports and app analytics with developers in your device settings, Apple may provide them to us. We use them only to fix problems.
Children: AI Status is a developer tool and is not directed at children.
